Time
for that all important topic; Alcohol.
We all love that chilled glass of wine or crisp cold beer at the end of a hard work day or week. For many Australians the consumption of alcohol is socially accepted and is a typical part of Australian culture. It is used in various ways to socialise, escape, relax and celebrate. On any single drinking occasion it is recommended that a person should not exceed two standard drinks (containing 10 grams of alcohol) (Ritter et al., 2013). However, if you are consuming more than four drinks in one sitting you are placing yourself and your body at long term health risks. In order to look after your health and wellbeing it is important to drink responsibly and in moderation. So the good news is that if you enjoy the occasional alcoholic drink with a meal after that hard day of teaching, enjoy yourself but remember moderation is the key!
