Employers can help their employees to achieve a healthy work-life balance simply by implementing a work-life balance policy within the organisation. In order for this to be effective, it is important that all employees are aware and understand the policy and have fair and equitable access to it. Work-life balance policies can include various arrangements such as flexible work hours or leave and can also provide employees with access to outside health support agencies when needed (Rasmussen, Mylonas and Beck, 2012). Schools for example, can use student free days to inform the staff body about health and wellbeing services available to them. Negotiate your non-contact time as a teacher, and create opportunities for you to take time out for yourself, or dedicate it to freeing up your timetable. Make sure you attend the school gym induction when given the chance. A boxing or body balance class of an afternoon can work wonders towards improving your mood. The sessions also allow to interact with your peers outside of a work situation.
